Colours are not just referred to by name. If you want to be specific with your choices, you will most likely have to start using the following terms when talking about colour.
In the illustration above, a hue is shown along with its value and chroma scale.
Hue
In colour theory, hue refer to the pure colour, when it is not affected by black or white.
Value
Value is the amount of black or white that is added to the hue.
Chroma
Colour chroma refers to the brightness of the colour, or rather, how saturated or desaturated it is.
